Proton LV launch and technical complex
Proton LV launch complex is capable of putting payload of up to 22 t into low Earth orbit and payload of up to 3.5 t into geostationary orbit.
Some of International Space Station parts were launched from Proton launch complexes located on Baikonur cosmodrome.
The launch complex consists of:
- launch equipment
- LV maintenance service
- fuel filling systems and equipment
- computer-controlled system for ground-based support equipment
- waste disposal system
- ground-based telemetry systems
- gas supply systems
- power supply system
- technical systems
- firefighting system
LVandSCprelaunchpreparationisperformedatspecialtechnicalsites. These sites store, assemble and test LV and payloads. The technical sites are also equipped with systems to fill SC with propellant and compressed gases, dock payloads to LV.
